PowerSearch.
Below are step by step instructions to remove PowerSearch from your computer.
Note: This process is difficult and is not recommend unless you are an expert in this field. The manual process is also dangerous as the removal process requires you to access and edit sensitive files in the registry of your machine and run the risk of totally destroying your computer.

An important point to remember when removing PowerSearch is to delete all parts of the PowerSearch code. This is a must as PowerSearch will rebuild itself and will result in further spreading of the spyware parasite.

PowerSearch Description
PowerSearch is an Internet Explorer toolbar that provides search features. PowerSearch may redirect your home page and search requests through its controlling server, SirSearch.com. PowerSearch may also track your online behaviors.

Powersearch Removal Instructions

Start the registry editor. This is done by clicking Start then Run. (The Run dialog will appear.) Type
regedit and click OK. (The registry editor will open.)

Browse to the key:
'HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Internet Explorer \ Toolbar \ WebBrowser'

In the right pane, delete the value called {4E7BD74F-2B8D-469E-A08E-8E1CA787AD2D}, if it exists.

Delete 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Classes \ CLSID \ {4E7BD74F-2B8D-469E-A08E-8E1CA787AD2D}', if it exists.

Browse to the key:
'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Internet Explorer \ Toolbar'

In the right pane, delete the value called {4E7BD74F-2B8D-469E-A08E-8E1CA787AD2D}, if it exists.

Exit the registry editor.

Restart your computer.

Delete the following directory:
%ProgramsDir%\PowerSearch\
Note: %ProgramsDir% is a variable. By default, this is C:\Program Files.
